Ingredients (Serves 6)

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoon corn syrup
12 slices of bread
6 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt

1: Cut the bread into 1 inch cubes.

1: Combine the sugar, butter, and corn syrup in a small saucepan, cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly.

2: Pour the syrup mixture into a 13×9 inch baking dish. Place the bread cubes in the dish and arrange them so they are evenly spread.

3: Combine the eggs, milk, vanilla, and salt, stirring until blended. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread pieces.

4: Cover and chill for a couple hours, or overnight, so the bread can absorb the egg mixture.

5: Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve immediately with whipped cream and fresh fruit.
